Glendale auto futurist Robert Riley selling 225-mpg hybrid plans
Quote:
Robert Riley, whose alternative vehicle designs have appeared in magazines such as Popular Mechanics, is selling construction plans for his XR3 hybrid car, which he says gets up to 225 miles per gallon.
Plans for the two-passenger, three-wheel futuristic looking vehicle cost $200. It can be outfitted with various power trains to create a 125-mpg diesel-only vehicle, a 100-mile range battery-only vehicle, or the hybrid, which can be plugged into a conventional wall outlet and gain an 80 percent charge in 1.5 hours.
