Default Honda Civic named top car for 2006

Quote:
Motor Trend magazine, the world's automotive authority and part of the PRIMEDIA Consumer Automotive Group, today announced the selection of the Honda Civic as the 2006 Motor Trend Car of the Year. The Honda Civic has an impressive 2006 lineup that includes four new models - all winning the Car of the Year award. Now in its 57th year, the Motor Trend Car of the Year Award is the most coveted and most recognized honor in the automotive industry..."Honda deserves a standing ovation for not playing it safe again," said Angus MacKenzie, editor-in-chief of Motor Trend. "With the sizzling Si, a sleek coupe, an elegant sedan, and a Hybrid that averages 50 miles per gallon, each model shines through with what Motor Trend looks for when crowning Car of the Year. The engineering passion that Honda Motor Company was founded on radiates from these new Civics."

Oh dear oh dear. I feel all "trendy" inside now. I've not had a MT car of the year since the 1975 Olds Cutlass Supreme. And I was &^$#%^teen years old at the time, and didn't know any better LOL

isn't it awful to find that you are "trendy" in spite of all efforts to avoid it? that's kind of how i feel. however, i still think it's great that the civic is being recognized for what a great car it is, something some of us have known for quite some time.

.

Best fill 66.7 MPG, best tank 801.5 miles

The best thing is the Civic is the emphasis is on being well-built, not fashion. This is what I hope GM will do on their future models, so discounting won't be necessary.

.

61.5mpg lifetime - 82mpg in recent months

lol about insights... www.hondasucks.ca < i thought it was pretty funny! at least i'll never get a insight ;P

plus i think the safety for everyone on the civic was a BOLD move by honda bravo.

.

i got around 20 km a liter when i drove a civic 5 spd using advanced hypermiler techniques
and now I drive a salvage nwh20 prius that gets almost to 25 km/l with 192,000 km to date.
