Default Nissan Altima to go hybrid in U.S. in '06
Nissan Motor Co. will begin producing the hybrid version of its midsize Altima sedan in the United States in 2006, with Toyota Motor Corp. providing the engine system, Nissan President Carlos Ghosn said Monday. During a news conference at the 2005 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Ghosn said the automaker will decide annual output of Altima hybrid cars based on demand, but the maximum will be 50,000 units per year.
