Lightbulb Carchip and Honda Civic Hybrid 06 or 07

Has anyone successfully used a Carchip or similar ODB-II scanner or data logger in the Honda Civic Hybrid 2006 or 2007 models? I was considering buying one after locating the ODB-II (or DLC) port in my 2007 Civic Hybrid. It didn't look like the Carchip would fit neatly into the port since the port is close to part of the dashboard under the driver's side. It seems as though some kind of extension cable would be necessary.

Also, I could not find on the carchip website anything that mentions whether the mpg data is directly recorded. I guess you have to calculate it from ICE rpm data and the known displacement volume?

Hope this helps a little, even though I drive an Insight.

I have both www.scangage.com and just bought CarChip. Both products have limitations computing fuel consumption on all hybrids. On ScanGage, the mpg is comically off.

.

61.5mpg lifetime - 82mpg in recent months
