Default Differing FE Stands Out

How funny...

I just filled up the HAH and the V6 Escape yesterday. It took nearly the same amount of fuel! Within two tenths of a gallon. The difference was, I went 400 miles in the HAH, whereas my wife went only 260 miles in her Escape!

MPGs from our last tanks;

Insight 102.2
VW Golf TDI 48.7
Suburban 10.2

MPG for last year;
Insight 13527 miles at 90.7 MPG =149 gallons
VW Golf TDI 25056 miles at 47.9 MPG =524 gallons
Suburban 3009 miles 11.1 MPG =270 gallons

It's not a fair comparison because I have never pulled a trailer with the Insight but the Burban used 121 gallons more then the Insight to go 10518 miles less....Louis

Looks like you need to get your wife a FEH...

That would be nice. But we'd take quite a hit on trade in...

The last time I checked, we'd have to come out of pocket slightly over $10K to trade up to the FEH.

I drive 20K miles/year, and my wife drives 10K in her Explorer. Within $10 we spent the exact same amount on gas over the past 12 months!!

Double the miles at double the mileage
