I know the 2004 already comes with heat rejecting green glass.
I wonder if the plastic film would help or hurt?

Hm, I have an '04, but the glass looks clear to me.... I don't expect it'd hurt at all; the film isn't dark enough to hinder my view. Plus, the film goes on the inside of the windows, so any heat-rejecting properties of the glass should still work. I suppose the question is more along the lines of, what happens to the heat the glass lets through and the film tries to block. (

Visions of heat waves bouncing back and forth forever in the infinitesimal space between glass and film....) I tried the black screens on the rear side windows and didn't notice much improvement. OTOH, I haven't put one on the
rear window, which would probably make a BIG difference, since the rear window "leans" quite a bit more than it does in a wagon.
I've been thinking of getting a wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer set; put one in the trunk and one in the center console, to get a baseline before I do anything (more-or-less) permanent. I'm not sure it'll take the interior heat, though.... Does anyone know whether the trunk is cooler than the passenger compartment of a car? Assuming, of course, one is not using a/c.
