I just read an article hear in Wisconsin stating that gas prices could reach $2.50 this summer.

Eric - for comparison, what have prices risen to in the past ? For example, we've already been > $2.50/gal in the Chicago area as of 2-3 summers ago (although where Wayne / myself are located in Lake County IL, we're currently at about $1.85/gal)

Sometimes we could all use a little less

Here's what I've paid for gas since January 2004:

Lowest $1.57 (Jan 2004)
Highest $2.10 (May 2004)
Average $1.87
Current $1.97

The most I've paid here in the outer Atlanta suburbs last summer was pennies under $2.00/G, but at that time had seen others pump @ $2.30 in the City limits.

Currently we're also paying $1.80 to $1.85.

The lowest I ever remember it was back in the mid 1960's was at twelve cents per gallon.
I remember dear 'ol dad complaining that fourteen cents was highway ripoff, as we pull our Puma pop-up camper. We went further down the road and found it for less.

I really haven't been following $ per barrel but understand it is pretty much constantly increasing, which hasen't been translated at the pumps yet.

If it's always increasing I wonder who's been paying the difference?
If the difference is being borrowed somewhere then we will likely be in for a big whollop down the road ! (No pun intended)

Efficient drivers do it better.
1003 miles a tank personal record. 74MPG calculated. HCH1 CVT
