Default ScanGaugeII

Looking at buying one for my FEH and also one for my new Ford focus. Has anyone tried the scangauge on anything other than a hybrid vehicle?

Yep. It works just fine, and gives all sorts of nifty info.

There are several different ways of getting one, if you look at the right sites, or attend hybridfest, you can usually get a nice discount on it.

After reading about them here, I bought one for my conventional 2000 Explorer. Using the instantaneous and trip mpg readouts, I've been able to bump my mileage up from a stubborn 15-1/2-16 towards 19+ mpg. (Still working on calibrating the fuel consumed readout; this 'before' number is from gas receipts and the 'after' number from the SGII, so not directly comparable...)

Mostly what the SGII has guided me towards is what I like to call 'aggressive coasting.' If the FE improvement numbers pan out, it'll have paid for itself in under five months (I paid list,) and go on to save me $400+ a year. So far what I'm seeing is tank-ranges going up from 240-260 to over 300 for the last two, since I bought it.

The ScanGaugeII is the unit that gets talked about here, but there are a couple others to consider, including one that gives you an overall 'smoothness' score that you can work on improving. At least from the pictures it also looked a little more stylish, but also a bump up more expensive. (The SGII is pretty utilitarian looking.)
