When I was growing up, the section from Atoka to McAlester was drop-dead gorgous . . . I remember Dad driving up through the densest possible fog to break out and see the tops of the fog banks in the early morning sunrise. Dad was one of the doctors they called to treat the inmates at the McAlester prison. Back then, that stretch was limited to 55-60 mph, about as fast as safe, and some of those switch-back turns were down to 25 mph.

Delta Flyer is correct. US 75/69 with the Indian Nation Turnpike 40 of the miles.

I did have a tail wind that I believe was 5-10 mph. I had 85 mi on the trip meter (30 mi city streets and 55 mi hiway at 55 mph) before I left and filled up in Tulsa at 330 miles. As I stated in my previous post the entire trip was at 55 mph or under and I used CC for the entire trip except at Toll booths or city GO lights. I do have super inflated tires at 55 psi front and 53 psi rear. The mfd showed 61.8 and my previous tank (~440 mi) gave me 57.6 mpg and 60.5 mfd. I am assuming some of this has to do with the bladder temperature at fillup. I can't think what else it could be as my 2 fillups before that came in at 55.5 mpg (61.8 mfd) and 67.4 mpg (61.5 mfd) respectively. So something is up with the ECU calculation vs actual but I'm not sure what. Right now I'm showing 296 mi and 61.1 mfd and just went from 7 to 6 blips on the gauge.

Anyhow, as you might imagine, I am ecstatic with 61+ mpg over the last 1600+ miles.

It is now 4 lane the entire way from Dallas to Tulsa and relatively straight.
