Talking WOOWOO..66.9MPG on way home tonight! HCH

ok, it was only 40 miles, however i haven't ever come close to that high, and especially since it started to get colder. i filled up and went right onto the backroads route i take home, fairly even, but with enough hills to do some coasting. i think it could have been a higher number, but in a couple of places i had to speed up because i could feel pressure from a driver coming up behing me....two lane road in the dark. but i wanted to get one last good run in before i have to put my snow tires on next week.

i am very pleased.

This is totally unscientific, but I'd bet you would have gotten 95mpg on a 5-speed Insight - i.e. AWESOME!

i would love to try. i wanted an insight when they first came out, but with our minnesota winters they just didn't seem like a good fit. i wish i had at least taken one for a test drive.

now i can't wait for winter to be over and see what kind of mileage i can pull in the summer. or maybe it's that i just passed 5000 miles and finally am getting the improved FE my dealer told me would happen. ROFL....

Hi Laurie:

___Excellent!!! Not only is your HCH hitting on all 4 cylinders with that 5,000 miles under your belt, you are too! Just wait until you get one of those 60 + degree days next spring. I can see many 70 + mpg segments in your future once you really start pushing her for all she’s worth

___Valedictorian anyone?

___Good Luck and congrats!

thanks, wayne. good thing i worked on it last night, tonight is totally awful. here it is mid-november and we are having a gully washer of a thunderstorm (in minnesota!!), with high winds coming later. glad it's not colder, or we would have a major blizzard on our hands.

i would be totally delighted to be able to get 70mpg. except, of course, then i would have to get a new license plate frame.
