Default Your speed on the Highway

How fast or slow do you drive on the Highway normally?

Do you tend to use cruise control?

I am asking because I believe that my fuel economy really starts dropping after 60mph. It might be enlightening to see how fast or slow other hybrid owners tend to drive.

I tend to go between 55 and 60 miles per hour using CC.

No wrong answers here - please dont start flaming each other.....

I tend to center about 65 miles per hour. Making up a survey is not trivial but I'd have probably used divisions like:

52-
53-57 - centers at 55
58-62 - centers at 60
63-67 - centers at 65
68-72 - centers at 70
73-77 - centers at 75
78-82 - centers at 80
83+

Still I applaud your survey and look forward to the results.

I've found myself doing 45 on a highway a few times. Usually at the apex of a hill. Did not want to slow down that much but it happens. Speed limit is 65 here in NJ. Others were not happy.

sparty: no cruise control in my insight. not available from honda, although rostra makes one to fit. i use the driving with load technique, so my speed varies quite a bit. i stay in the right lane, so others can just deal with it. so far no problems in 2 years of commuting (knocks on head).

If the speed limit is 55, I try to stay about 55-57mph.
Where the speed limit is 65, I drive about 60mpg.
I never use cruise control.

60-64 is my vote. Although it is sometimes higher.
We have CRUISE CONTROL?? (never used it, other than on a long trip, once).

I see Kenny hasn't voted yet

My speed is usually between 70 - 80 miles per hour depending on flow of traffic. So I guess that would be 75 miles per hour?
