Re: Buying a Civic, Is this a good price?
I paid 22,400 for a Non-Navi Civic 2. Paid when they first came out but buying any car in the Northeast is more pricey than most places. I'd say take it, that's a great deal.
Buy it and ask what toyota owners paid for their hybrids

I paid 21,900 for a non-navi in May. I live in MA. I would say 21,600 is a good price.

for a hybrid? If you don't want it, let me know. The best quote I got without Nav was 21,800.

Congrats on the new Civic and on the good price! I hope you enjoy it! If you can keep up the 57 mpg, you'll be a star hypermiler for sure. (living in South Carolina you have the warm weather for it, so that's bound to be a help). Good luck with the car and welcome to GreenHybrid!

Re: Buying a Civic, Is this a good price?
Congrats!!! I haven't had mine a week yet, and I love it too. I have a very short commute (4.3 miles when I take the LONG route!!), but which also allows me to do 35-55 most of the way, with complete stop and go traffic the last mile or so (I work on a university campus -- lots and lots of car and pedestrian traffic). Anyway, my average for these trips is 42.8 mpg as of arriving home this evening. I am very, very pleased. I know it will get better as the car breaks in, and as I read more and learn how to drive it better. Obviously, overall MPG would be better if I had highway miles too, but I don't.
Again, I *love* this car -- glad you are loving yours too!!
