Default Happy Honda Hybrid owner

Hello to the many other hybrid owners who have already helped to make me even more satisfied with my recent purchase of an '08 HCH II.

I was very pleased to get 4.9 l/100km (48 MPGus) for my first 1000 km. When the motor is better broken-in and I can switch to synthetic oil, I expect to see further improvement.

I have learned several new techniques from this forum to get more out of the hybrid technology. I must admit it's been a whole new experience but with gas prices here in British Columbia over $1.50/litre ($5.60/USgal), there has been a real incentive to find better ways to reduce my fuel consumption.

I have been a fan of Hondas for many years and always thought they put a lot of effort into the engineering of their engines whether in a car or motorcycle. I really appreciate how we are able to drive cars with a high level of technical complexity and yet enjoy such long and relatively trouble-free ownership.

My "name" is a tribute to my first Honda - a 1961 Dream 305 motorcycle; gone but not forgotten.

Cheers,

Roger

Welcome to the CLUB!

One of the great things about GreenHybrid.com is we also look at how to preserve and keep our rides rolling ... making the savings last. As you've no doubt discovered, the Honda forums have a lot of subject matter experts and you are in for a treat.

GOOD LUCK!

Hi Roger and welcome!

I think you will find the HCH2 to be pretty efficient, especially if cruising on the freeway.

You will probably smile as you see the l/100km gage drop below 4.0 on upcoming trips!

Hi Roger, I still miss my 1982 V45 Magna, years ahead of it's time back then. Liquid cooled, shaft drive, and 20 more HP than any 750 at the time. I don't own a Honda car, but I always knew Honda could make some good stuff!
