I'v had my HCH for almost a month and love it. Not getting as good of mileage as I was hoping but still breaking it in and gaining a little all the time.

I am up to 40.1 from 36.3 when I first got it. I drive 120 miles daily 98% interstate. I do go about 72-74 mph, if I didn't I would be ran over. If I could go a little slower I know I would improve my mileage, I try to drive city whenever I can to boost my average.

I have been reading the posted threads for about 3 weeks now and have found some interesting information and have learned from other Hybrid owners.
Glad to have finally joined and be able to respond.

Here's a success story for you......10 months ago, my first HCH tank was 38.43, and my last seven tanks have averaged about 53 MPG.....I have taken my lifetime from 34.4 up to 44.2 in about 11,500 miles.

Hang in there. If you choose to use the techniques and tips on this website you will see higher numbers over time, virtually guaranteed....

When I joined GreenHybrid I was getting between 34 and 36MPG. My current tank is at 54mpg. Oh, and I joined less than 6 months ago I think.

GoodMPG,
40mpg at nearly 75 mph is not too bad.

See, just under the wire. Just less than 6 months. I expect you (GoodMPG) can squeeze out a few more mpg using tips on this site. Have you raised your tire preasure a few pounds? Thats always a winner. Then there are the coasting to a stop things. When you get off the highway when do you start coasting? If you are going 75 start coasting at the point where when you hit the ramp your speed is the speed limit of the ramp.

Fight for that mpg. Don't settle for what you are getting. You can do better.

Great job at getting what you are right now. Like Eric said. 40mpg at nearly 75 mpg isn't too bad. How about slowing down 1mph at a time until you find a speed that gives you better mpg and is tollerable to drive at.
