Smile New Highlander

Hi. My name is Katie. My husband and I just bought a Toyota Highlander Hybrid today (we not-so-patiently waited until 2006 for the increased tax credit). We would've loved to have gotten a Prius, but we needed the extra seats for our kindergartner's carpool. Love it so far, very smooth ride. I'll post an initial mileage number after the first fill-up. Our other vehicle is a Chevy Silverado pickup that we run on 100% biodiesel (delivered to our home). Would love to have a hybrid diesel someday.

Welcome Katie!
Biodiesel?!? That's great, too! I couldn't quite make the leap when we replaced our Dodge Caravan. Maybe next time!

We just filled up for the first time, and calculated 28.6 mpg. Not bad for the first tank, huh? It also included two 100-mile, mostly freeway trips. :-) We're having fun learning to drive the way it wants us to (great incentive not to speed).

Katie
