Hello all. I am a new member of the hybrid family. I got my Escape Hybrid on Oct. 2nd and I truly love this rig. Good to see a great website for hybrid owners. Look forward to participating.

Hi Solesrfr:

___Welcome to Greenhybrid. Not only is your automobile saving you fuel over and above a regular SUV at every fill up, more importantly, it is a PZEV meaning its emissions are so low that they cannot be measured by most regular SMOG stations! If you drive through many areas of the LA basin, your Escape HEV is actually scrubbing (cleaning) the air of SMOG pollutants as you drive!

___Good Luck and enjoy your new Hybrid Escape to its fullest.

Welcome aboard, solesrfr.
I look forward to hearing about your hybrid.

I'll be watching the database to see how the Escape does in the real world.

Thanks all. I love this rig. I needed something that could haul parts around for my job, as well as handle some Baja surf trips. I was looking at a small truck but even they are not the best for gas rattings. I almost ended up with a 4banger Ranger since it was best in its class. Not sure if it would have had the power I needed though. Then I heard about the Escape and decided to wait. What a long wait it was too. I first heard of the Escape back in 02. Anyway thanks again and I will add my tanks as I fill. Already approching 3k miles.

That is so cool that you have an Escape Hybrid. I surf as well and am thinking that the Escape would be great to have for long boards and short boards.

I have a brother whose 'small car' is a Hyundai Santa Fe ( Suburban otherwise) so I am hoping to turn him onto this Escape Hybrid when he needs a new vehicle.

Congrats I will be looking to see how things go for you

I am a new owner as well.
800 miles on a 2005 Red Prius.
46 mpg so far.

Tom
