Thumbs up New Prius owner

Hi,

I'm Johnathon. My wife, Sabrina, and I just bought the Prius. We just love it. We even got them to go under MSRP by a 1,000 and got pretty much the options we wanted. So far, I'm getting 48 mpg. I have a lot of questions about noises and things with the car I don't understand. I'll post in appropriate places for that though. Just introducing myself here.

Johnathon

Yes, welcome to both GH and hybrid world! You'll find lots of answers to your questions by looking through the Discuss area. I'm amazed at how much I learned in a short time, and how much I've been able to improve my mileage. The people who post here really are fantastic! I'd suggest starting by plowing through as much of the Prius header as possible.

I drive a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid (HCH II). The Discuss topic header says it is the "arch rival" of the Prius. Hope we can still be friends, though...

Hello,
I just bought a 06 Prius in 03/14 and I love it. I got 48.7 mpg on my first gas tank, however, the trip computer said 53.2 mpg. Does anyone know if the trip computer has an error? Or maybe the dealer didn't fill the gas tank.

Hi, David, and welcome! My advice would be not to trust the first tank if you didn't fill it. Wait for your second and third tank. I don't own a Prius, so I can't comment first hand, but I have learned from the forum that your actual mileage may tend to lag slightly behind the computer's estimate. This isn't just a Prius thing. Check around on the forum and you'll see threads that discuss this.

HI Bill,

Thank you for the info, I will am running half empty on my second tank right now, so I will confirm the actual mileage vs. the computer.
How do you like the HCH?

David
