I've been "lurking" around GreenHybrid the last half year learning a lot. Thanks!

I commute with a 1998 Honda Accord EX-V6 about 50 miles a day at freeway speeds averaging 25 MPG with 5% city versus 95% highway mix on a pretty flat route from San Jose CA to Morgan Hill CA.

My commute profile indicates a "highway hybrid" - so I'm considering the 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid. I'm hoping for the EPA HWY 35 MPG.

I'll be using edmunds.com. For the SF Bay Area, the 2006 HAH appears to be going for $1000 above invoice and $2000 below MSRP. Perhaps the recent comments about HAH production levels and competition from the Toyota Camry Hybrid will force an even lower price. I'm glad I waited 6 months. Plus, the FE tax credit went up!
