Default Should've done this a long time ago...

Greetings!

My name is Charlie, and I have two hybrids (05 FEH and 04 HCH).

I have been a member here about two months, and I should've posted here a long time ago and didn't and I apologize for not doing so.

I live in NJ and commute about 112 RT from Stockton to Livingston. I had been driving a 1993 Ford F150, which I still have and love, but it had 195K miles and silly things were starting to go wrong I knew I needed a new commuting vehicle.

As gasoline approached $2 in early 2004, I went and found an HCH MT hybrid. I knew it would be the right car for me. It was. It is fun!

When my wife's 1998 Dodge Caravan started feeling ill (at 125K) I decided to replace it. I searched high and low and found a FEH AWD. I had retired a 1990 4WD Isuzu Trooper and really did want to have a 4WD on my farm (all of 10 acres in western NJ).

I think this site is an execllent forum for discussion, debate, comisseration (sp?) and sharing. I feel that I have connected to several individuals.

Jason, you are doing a nice job on this site. I can only imagine the headaches you see in your "inbox" every day.

Whether one is a conservationalist, econimizer, anti-gas-guzzler, or whatever, I have discovered that the debates (so far) are above board and honest.

I enjoy the debates on HSD vs IMA.

I enjoy the hypermiler tales.

I enjoy helping (and being helped) members with stupid things like where to get parts for hybirds that haven't been manufactured by third parties yet.

I enjoy this place and hope that I am welcome here for a long time.

Other information:
I am an information techincal specialist with seven year old (born in 1997) twins who play soccer, love scouts and are very athletic. My wife owns and loves horses and I take care of the them.

.

Welcome to the site and I am glad you have found it useful so far! Your average is great! I envy folks that have a long enough commute to get the really good mileage.

zadscmc,
Thanks for contributing an "official" introduction. I have read many of your posts in the past and am glad you are part of our community. I agree with you assessment of the real mileage database. It has always been a feature I've enjoyed, too.

Haha. Well, not so much of a headache lately. I just got a new computer and keep bouncing out of town. I've been hanging around the site a lot less than usual.

Thanks for the intro.
