2007 MMH
Why is the 2007 MMH still not "formally" available?
Cannot "build" one at mercury.com

That's interesting that you asked that. When we bought our 07 MMH in late Aug, we had to sign a paper that said we cannot turn around and sell it for 3 months. They said it is because it was pre-production and the car wouldnt be out until December. Didnt press the point at the time though. I wonder myself now.

Re: 2007 MMH
For the most part, all of Mercury's website is still "stuck" in the 2006 MY. Well, except I noticed they added a small pic on the 2006 MMH pages that allows you to "preview" the 2007 model. Though, all it seems to do, is to change the picture to the new 2007 color, sage.
However, you can select 2007 when checking for the latest incentives (rebates, interest rate, etc), and when you search dealer inventory, "2006" will yield both 2006 and 2007 vehicles.

I can't quite imagine what that was about. 2007 model year production began in mid May.

Re: 2007 MMH
Could it mean, possibly, that a mid-year, 2007.5, model change-over is coming out in December?
Why does the MMH have a single high/low headlamp and the FEH has separate ones. 2007.5 will have HID option? Stability control? Better/decent GPS/Nav?

I would possibly guess that it was some sort of state/local hybrid incentive (low/no registration fees, low/no sales tax, etc), that has the 3 month minimum ownership rule.
From what I hear, the design "refresh" will be coming out around April '07 as an early '08 model. It has already been announced that it will have Ford's latest stability control. Anything else, is any one's guess at this point, though with Ford's lack of interest in hybrids, I would think little-to-nothing will change there.
Supposedly, the "refreshed" Escape will look like a smaller Explorer. However, the Mariner already looks like a smaller Mountaineer. So, I wonder what its "refresh" will be?

I noticed that, finally, the mercuryvehicle.com website has the 2007 Mariners. I was wondering just how long after the 2008's website was up and running, that the regular website would get the 2007.

I have read in one article that the '08 will be in showrooms in March and another that said 1st quarter of 2007. One of the videos on the '08 website states that it will be in showrooms in February.

March is in the 1st quarter. So, either could be right.
Ford has notoriously been late. We'll see if the new CEO changes that.

Re: 2007 MMH
Test drove an MMH yesterday, impressed with level of acceleration, given the weight, once the system decided to "go" a few hundred milliseconds after fully depressing the gas pedal.
What's with the acceleration delay?
Message to FORD...the Edge/MKX needs to be a hybrid.
Or give the FEH/MMH a Suzuki SX4 style body/weight.
