You know, the center stack used on the '06 Japanese Escape, looks mighty similar to the '08 USA one. I wonder if it might be a source of parts?

In a perfect world, I would love to add in the auto climate control features.

However I bet I am dreaming there...

We need a 2008 owner with the hybrid/nav radio to pull the unit out and take pictures of the connections/wiring. That should get us closer to answering whether it can be swapped in to the earlier models.

I would also like to see a 2008 wiring manual. This way, even if the connectors are different (likely), I could see if the same signals are still available.

Ok sounds like another job for me. I took pics of the speakers in the front, so I might as well do this. I will try to take it out tomorrow and will post pics. BTW how do you post pics here right in the msg rather than everyone having to click on a link?

I always post my own pics over in the "share" section, then post a reference here in the "discuss" section.

If you look in the "share" section, you will see that there are already several pics of the '07 Nav system.

So can anyone interpret those PDFs to figure out if it'll work?

I don't think any of those are for the NAV radio.
