I know this isn't really related to the hybrid aspect of the escape, but I'm curious what bike racks people are using.

I'm thinking of a receiver hitch rack ... but I would have to get a hitch installed.

I am not sure I can help or not. When I ordered last September one of my demands was a towing setup. When my car came in late November I went about a month where my dealer tried three hitches from Ford, none of which fit because of the rear coolant lines. I then teamed up with Hitch-Web.Com and Curt Hitch of Wisconsin and got success because the hitch needed a piece cut out to fit. I believe I was the first in the USA to mount a clean class 2 hitch. I can send you a pdf file with the details if you repost or email me with your email address. My hitch can accomodate a 2 inch insert which most bike racks need. The cost of the hitch was less than $200 and it can be installed by a less than mechanic. Your will not need an elctric light hookup but those can be got in a kit from either Hitch-Web.Com or ETrailer.Com.
