What does that mean? They sold you a pirated copy?!..no way, not ebay
So what about the one that you got GaryG...was that "kluggy" too? If not, then it's worth it to buy, right?
Exactly where did I say I bought mine on eBay????
I didn't.
Where did I say what I have, were from Helms????
They aren't. Well, not as far as I know. What I got were the DVD's used by Ford service.
However, some of the other kluggy things I had a problem with, was displaying diagrams. They would not show. Apparently, "stock" Windows software didn't include what-ever program Ford uses to display its diagrams.
Walt, thanks for the clarification of the problem, I thought people were having problems with the date thing only with the DVD. As far as I know, Helms is the only one that publish the service shop manuals and DVD's for Ford. When I first tried to get the manuals, the Ford parts dept said I should go directly to: http://helmsinc.com/ The reason I'm posting the site is because I remembered it was not Helms.com.. I forgot the "inc" which make a big difference trying to find the site.
If you have a different manufacture of the DVD, please let us know who and at what cost.
I remember when you were looking for them. Did you get the '06 manuals? and when I quote a page from the '05, is it the same?
GaryG
Your posts were quite helpful, and it was pure luck that found me an auction with all the manuals in one bundle before I'd bought any manuals yet (thus, no duplicates).
I did get the '06 manuals. I'll have to check on whether they page numbering coincides with the '05 manuals.

Re: FEH software on DVD
Hey All... can you guys ( and gals ) please clarify?
I have a Helms CD-ROM ( not DVD ). It's only 304 MB after all, and is the workshops manuals, wire diagrams, troubleshooting, and Emissions Contorols info.
It's for the 2005 FEH, 2005 Escape, and 2005 Mariner combined. Published in late 2004.
Is this what you guys are talking about? Or is it a REAL DVD ( up to 4700 MB ) ????

URLs are slippery things -- the URL for Helm Manuals is actually http://www.helminc.com/ -- the link you provided above goes to a spam site (ad revenue driven, no real content) because it includes an "s" after "helm".

Re: FEH software on DVD
The title, and thus the topic here should be FEH software on DVD.
Since I have all the Hybrid Workshop Manuals from Helms on a single CD-ROM I would like to know who has CD-ROM, and who has DVD and what, if any differences there are.
Hmm...I felt it was within the bounds of the topic, considering the OP (Original Poster) mentioned and linked in Post #1 two of the very same manuals I own and was discussing.
I'll back up and out of the thread, if it'll make you feel better.
