Default Finally, a 30+mpg tank of gas!

I've got 2900 miles on my '07 FEH. After trying for several tanks (creeping away from stop lights, coasting, etc), I finally got 31.5 mpg for a tank of gas. The funny thing is, I pretty much stopped worrying about it and then I noticed my computer was consistently showing 32-33mpg (almost hit 34). One trip on the highway into downtown, I wasn't even paying attention, but when I got near my house I thought to check it and I was over 33mpg. The other key factor (I'm sure) is that it's finally cooled off some so that I don't run the AC all the time (just most of the time).

Anyway, it was a nice jump from 27.5 to 31.5, so I'm a happy camper.

Russ

Congrats. A year from now you will be thinking that a 30 mpg tank is child's play.

Many people get a mileage bump at around 3000 miles. Your car is getting broken in and you are improving as a driver. You are definitely benefitting from the cooler weather as well.

Keep it up. Shoot for a 35 tank next.
