Default Hard Data on Reliability?

Does anyone have any hard data about the reliability of the FEH? I am (still) considering buying one, and am worrying about reliability.

I already did a forum search on reliability, so I have general info and the report about lack of complaints at the owner road show. I'm just wondering if there is anything more, especially numbers.

Examples of things I've seen are squeaks in the brakes, and the recent brake failure.

Any comments or info will be appreciated.

Do you know where to find 'hard data' on /any/ model car (outside of CR) ?

Though that version is woefully underinformed compared to the broadcast version, the FEH had less complaints in '05 than the regular Escape, though not by much. They gave the actual hard numbers at the time, but I can't seem to find them online, only that article which was a nuetered version of the broadcast I saw, which gave a numeric breakdown.

I agree that the data is hard to get.

Maybe we'll hear from enough forum members to form some kind of opinion.

Could be an interesting addition to the mileage database...

The best I've seen was CR's surveys. The standard Ford Escape was very troublesome in it's first two years on the road. Afterwards, they started getting "average" ratings. The FEH in its first year, has gotten a "better than average" rating. There are alot more breakdowns on complaints by percentages on their website. I don't have the nifty little instant JPG program that we have at work to be able to transfer any of their graphs here.
