Re: Hybrid Comedy
As another GH poster suggested, maybe we should make a T-shirt of top ten.
How about a vote on the Top 10 that made you LOL?
Below is my favorite 20, please add your own:
* You love sneaking up on people in “stealth” mode.
* You forget the last time you were at the gas station.
* You've almost got in an accident because you were looking too long at MPG display.
* You look around at other cars at a stoplight to see if they've noticed your engine turned off.
* You realize your car is powered by hundreds of D-size batteries and don't think it's weird.
* You warn your passengers to "hold on" before you do fast turns to conserve momentum.
* Your grandmother asks, "Is there a reason you are driving so slow?”
* You get told "shuuut uuupp" when you mention your latest tank high MPG!
* You curve your front license plate to reduce drag.
* Your child is treated to a lecture on aerodynamics when he tries to roll down a window.
* You get pissed off at the truck you are drafting behind when he changes lanes or accelerates too quickly, then realize he may not like his new bumper sticker.
* You actually enjoy freeway slow & go traffic now so you can see how many miles you can drive in EV mode.
* One of your best friends drives a huge SUV that gets 10MPG and you remind them constantly.
* You've replaced your spare tire with a can of Fix-A-Flat because the spare tire was too heavy and lowered your MPG.
* You wish the cruise control maintained constant engine RPM rather than speed (miles per hour).
* You studied topographical maps and weather patterns until you came up with a route that allows you to go downhill both ways with a tailwind.
* You're overjoyed when you see another hybrid on the road, but devastated when they don't wave back.
* You carry a gas can in your car so you can push for a new record tank distance.
* You can’t wait for friends to ask why the hybrid doesn't shift so you explain the eCVT technical details.
* You know more about the hybrid system than both your dealer and mechanic.
