Interesting "missing" feature of the Nav system
So I was reading though the booklet about the nav system. There is an option there that says I can use "voice prompts" to use the radio functions. However it's only used when i press the "talk" button on the steering wheel. Well as we all know our Units dont have buttons for the radio on the wheel.
So Im wondering if i can install a toggle switch that would do such a thing...

Might be a feature in the regular Escape only.
You have to give those folks some reason to buy those cars that get lower MPG!

I believe the DVD based NAV system has that feature, possibly optional, on every other model except for the Escape/Mariner. Why this exclusion is known only by the marking folks at Ford.

If you go to the Ford Motor Co site and access the Mercury Mariner Hybrid manuals there, the supplement that describes the Nav system states that it also covers the Lincoln system. Now the Lincoln comes with their THX-II system and that may be the source of a reference to a voice interaction capability.
