Do I have to use one of these interfaces or a fm modulator to listen to my ipod through my stereo system?
I have a 2007 Escape with a cd changer.
Is there a way I could just splice into the audio in lines from the cd changer and put a simple multi wire switch in from radio shack to switch from cd changer to ipod.
I dont mind having to control my ipod from the actual ipod.
Is this system realy that complicated that I must use a $120 interface?
Sorry if I missed something in all pages on this thread.

Well, not sure if its worth the trouble of trying to kludge into the harness.
For $150 from LogJam I was able to do a nice clean install with the harnesses they supply. Mine had the 16pin connector. Use the SAT button and the radio thinks your ipod is a satellite receiver. Displays text, scans, search, etc. Sounds is excellent too, true line-level sound, sooo much better than an FM modulator.
I think it was well worth it. http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piefrd03pods.html
So even after two years, no manufacturer has come out with a harness that will allow the simultaneous use of IPOD (with headunit control) + CD changer (without disconnecting it)????
Would any of the solutions described for an external mp3 player also work for a Sirius radio without the Visteon adapter? Has anyone tried it? Can you feed the Sirius display into the Visteon radio display?
is there anyway to just AUX cable an ipod into the system? Because When you use an AUX cable it is generally much clearer than FM transmitter. The second thing i would like to know is if anyone has put systems in their FEH's. I don't want to go with a huge sub in the back, i just want to wire tweaters in.
