Default NAV/stereo question

Does the factory NAV/stereo 7 speaker setup(with the CD player under the seat) play mp3 files???

No, but there are several places where Ford have claimed that it does.

BTW - where's the seventh speaker?

I thought I had seen that Ford listed it as mp3 capable. The 7th speaker is the sub-woofer.

I thought I had seen that Ford listed it as mp3 capable.

The claim is even repeated in our very own Wiki:http://www.greenhybrid.com/wiki/index.php/Ford_Escape_Hybrid
It's what I thought when I ordered my '07, I even called Ford Customer service to find out if that meant it would play MP3 CDs or that you could plug in an MP3 player. I was told both were true, it turns out of course that neither is true, but I don't have in writing anywhere.

6 CDs of MP3s would be about 70 hours of music, of course my iPod hook up allows me to access about 1000 hours...and stops me feeling bitter about being misled. Almost.
