Default New Nav System Pics Soon!

After a LOT of research
I decided to yank my 07 Mariner Nav system, sell it on Ebay and put it a REAL Nav system.

Here is what I am getting.

Kenwood DNX7100

Build in Garmin Nav HD based, Full Ipod integration including the ability to PLAY ipod video DIRECTLY! XM traffic integration, DVD Video, Rear Camera. I am installing myself so it will be around $1400 with the cam and the XM radio...

Here it is installed....

You will have to trim the top of the stock dash opening to fit the dbl din unit in the dash.

It's no big deal, I cut the lip out with a pair of sidecutters, a Dremel would work also.

What would it take to install this into a non-nav model? Would all the hybrid stuff work or would it just be a NAV and radio.

The Hybrid screens are integrated into the stock NAV unit, they are not there in the aftermarket units.

Its been said that there is a different wiring harness on the NAV unit escapes and the non nav unit escapes. If thats true you aren't going to have the signals available on your escape because they would be missing from your harness.

I can't confirm this but its definitely something you need to be sure of before you drop alot of money on one of the NAV's on ebay.

I misunderstood what you where asking.

I have the stock 06 NAV unit sitting here that I would sell cheap, but I don't think it will work for anybody who did not have the factory NAV setup.

The CD player is under the passenger seat & you definitely don't have the wiring for that + all the harnesses at the dash are different.
