I just realized that I probably have more EV-only seat time than most on this board.

I drove an EV forklift for 8 hours a day for a long time. If fields cause by EV travel ARE somehow related to increased cancer risk, I'm screwed...

Something tells me that OSHA would have something to say about this since I'm not the only one that has had such large EV exposure. If I remember correctly I was riding on top of 2000+ lbs of lead acid batteries but I don't remember the Volt/Amp ratings...

I have an implanted Defibrillator, and Ford told me to ask my Dr. if it's hybrid is safe. But my Dr. feels that each manufacturer, should test and provide data on it's specific hybrids. So. at this point not only am I afraid to buy a new Escape Hybrid, but I'm afraid to go for a ride in my neighbors Mercury Mariner Hybrid. How can I get reliable info on this subject?

My wife went and visited her father, who has an implanted defibrillator, and they drove around bunches with him in the front seats and there was no issues. She even called him after I read this to her and they had a good laugh about it...

He is not worried about this issue and I don't think you should be either.

{sarcasm} Now the doctor did say that they were going to disable the defibrillator when he gets his next colonoscopy. Maybe we should worry about defibrillator owners causing damage to our FEH if they activate. {/sarcasm}

Everything else I've heard about the FEH from a safety standpoint has been positive, but I certainly don't feel comfortable about driving a car on a daily basis that might possibly increase the risk of either myself or my family getting cancer someday. I can't seem to find too many facts about this, only general articles saying it "might" be a problem, so anyone that could provide any feedback of substance would be greatly appreciated.
330V isn't that high... Not compared to the transmission lines coming into your home your 220V dryer, etc.

We've got alot more to worry about than the battery in your Hybrid... Besides, every time you idle in a normal car you are inhailing your exhaust (and the guys in front of you)... That'll probably kill you first. If we could get eveyone into a hybrid so there weren't any idling cars at intersections we'd all be healthier.

I'm talking really high voltage, many times higher than the hybrid battery. Close proximity to very high voltage power lines falls into the EMF/EMI catagory too, but this is thousands of volts, not 330V.
Nuclear explosions produce EMP, electromagnetic pulse. I've never heard of it referred to as EMF.
