Default Startup trouble

Hey folks, all of a sudden my 2-month-old '08 FEH is having trouble starting. First couple times, no startee. On the third try, it'll usually turn over.

It's black pearl finish, and it's been pretty hot lately (in the 90s, which is actually cool for Nashville. ) Should I expect trouble out of this? I'm going to take <strike>my baby</strike> the car to the dealer this week and have it looked at...

some jerk dinged my door pretty good this week, so maybe I'll have that fixed too...

well i'm in dallas and its been in the 90's here. mine is grey so it holds the heat somewhat too. I have about 2300miles on mine and knock on wood not a single problem! when i turn the key i just tap it and it starts right up.

Temperature should have nothing to do with starting - even in Phoenix in the midsummer. Your dealer should be able to diagnose and fix this. Sorry for this inconvenience.

Temps at normal operating temperatures won't effect startup. You may have a grounding fault, or some other issue, take it to the dealer and have the hybrid tech diagnose the problem.

BTW Travelover, welcome to GH, and don't forget to check in on the Michigan Roll Call.

Mine is about 2 months old, too. We had mid 90's here, and no trouble starting. I had it in the desert a few weeks ago in the low 100's and no trouble starting.

Thanks folks! Just wanted to sound at least a little like I knew what I was talking about when I called the dealership...

Overall, no other troubles, and I LOVE THIS CAR. I'm like a little kid with new shoes.

Friend of mine loved my car so much, she went this past weekend and traded in her '07 model on the '08...what can I say. I love enabling people. ;^) Word on the street is Nashville has gotten all our '08s already, so my friend had to drive down to Atlanta to pick hers up, and apparently she had a great experience there with Team Ford of Marietta.
