Default Unlock NAV?

Is there a product that lets you unlock the Ford navigation system so you can use it while in motion, display ipod or other video, etc?

I am referring to something similar to the LOCKPICK device that is available for Toyota and GM vehicles.

there are a couple of threads that describe how to wire in a switch that allows you to use all the NAV features while in motion (the vehicle speed sensor wire into the back of the nav is what locks out those features).

There is a sticky at the top of this section that covers all of the ipod interface options, but the best you can get it control of tracks and a limited number of playlists but nothing on screen. As for displaying video, or anything else I think you are out of luck. This is a seriously low resolution screen. This thing is circa 1997 technology-wise.

Which system are we speaking of? Because the new 08's have a DVD drive so it would seem possible that one could stick a DVD in there and watch something. I wonder if this could be hacked somehow?? Time to start researching!

IT was real easy for me.

Step 1 remove factory NAV

Step 2 Install Kenwood system that allows all

Step 3 unload Factory Nav on Ebay.

But if you take out the factory NAV don't you lose all the hybrid information that the factory NAV displays? I thought that was a reason to get the NAV, for all that stuff.

yeah. thats my problem. I really enjoy the hybrid info, and I am very pleased with how the nav works. It gets me where I need to go. the sound is great. if we can figure out how to unlock it so it can do more. I'm sure its capable of much more.
