Default Window tint

I am looking at tinting the front door glass on my 08 FEH.

Does any one know what tint is on the 2nd row seating?

I would like to have the front glass match the 2nd row if it is not more than 35% which is the max in Kansas.

Thanks.

I took mine to a local shop, they have "match factory" tint, I think he said 20 or 35% not sure, but it does match very well!

It's the Proshield on this site

I don't have good pics yet (it's gotta stop rainig first) but there's some in the link in my sig from when I installed the mudflaps & tint on the same day.

Just be careful of what the laws are regarding window tinting not only in the state where you live, but also any states you ever plan to travel through.

I know that in PA, they have really cracked down on window tinting. You now not only get a fine, but your vehicles is declared unsafe and can't be driven again. That means you either have to have it towed to a "tint removal shop", or you must scrape off all the tinting while parked on the side of the road. When strict enforcement of this law first went into affect, our local paper ran a pic of some poor guy scraping the tinting all off his car, while a police officer watched in the background.

20% tint matches the factory tint perfectly, but it's not legal in many places.

For a state inspection in Texas you must be able to pass 30% of light through the front side windows. The windshield has a "ast" line that any tinting cannot go beyound. The rear windows are exempt. So if you get 31% tint, then you can be pulled over and sighted for tint less than 35% on your front side windows. Because there are 2 standards! Go figure

If the vehicle's tint meets the statutory requirements of the state in which it is registered, it may legally be operated in other states.

Your vehicle has to meet the codes of the state it is registered in. Nothing more.

On another note. I've never had windows tinted until this one. I did it due to the fact the AC is off in HV mode, I was hoping to help reduce the heat buildup inside a little. I never thought of it until my first drive home from work (2am) that tint makes things dark! So if you live in the country like I do (no street lights) and drive at night frequently (like I do) front window tint may not be for you.

Just my opnion now, after the fact.
