Re: 3 Friends, the AH, and an Attempt …
The sacrifice is worth it, to know what the absolute maximum is for this car. It's not like I'm suffering in the lap of luxury, here...but I'll be glad to get back into my comfy *car*
BTW, I think Xcel scared himself coming off that ramp...he didn't realize the V6 was nose-heavy, compared to his I4...but he recovered well from that plow...LOL... I think Tbaleno was going over his last will & testament for a second...

Thanks for the report. A good story, as always. It's amazing to see 50+ mpg in the Accord Hybrid!

Yup. I was thinking "We're going off the road for sure."
It's always more nerve wracking as a passenger. The driver has the comfort of the feedback from the steering wheel.
I was wondering if xcel was going to post tonight of if he was going to go for the extra 5mph around that ramp so he could make it to the stop sign and instead end up in the ditch. I'm glad to see he made it

xcel,
Very interesting narrative and very impressive mileage. Could you be more specific about what you did above?
I'm assuming an exit speed 50-60 or so, but I don't know what a "forced autostop" is in the HAH. Shift to neutral, key to accessory??

Your story has inspired me. I'm done trying to see how fast I can get to 60 (which defeats the point of a hybrid). I will not stomp on the accelerator again until I achieve at least 40mpg !!

Melton HAH,
You have to have a lot of self control. The power in the HAH is just so tempting.
