Default New 2005 HAH. Should I buy it?

If presented with a really great deal on a 2005 HAH (say 20-25% off list) and given the fact that it's the end of the model year and this car will very shortly be considered two years old, do you think buying a 2005 is a good move or should I go with a 2006?

The main functional differences are the lack of a moonroof and Vehicle Stability Assist on the 2005 HAH. The '05 also did not come with a spare tire just a 'flat fixer' kit. If you can live without those then an '05 at 20-25% off would be a very good deal.

I prefer the 05 to the 06 in the looks department (the redesigned rear end and tail lights just don't do it for me). I would go for the 25% discount on the 05, especially if it's Taffeta White with Navi

Unfortunately, I can't find an 05 with Nav, which really sucks, and I can't see spending $30,000+ on an 06 with Nav. BTW, I totally agree with you, the rear end of the 05 is much better, although I do like the straight out 06 exhaust and chrome tips.

With that big of a discount, even if I wanted an '06, I'd get the '05! Sure, you're loosig one year worth of depreciation with the '05, but you more than make up for it with a $6K to $7.5K discount!

But, that discount seems excessive. Who's selling an '05 HAH for $22,500 to $24,000?? For that price, I'd buy a second one!

It's an easy coast dealer. I'll tell you after I've picked out my color. They have three right now. BTW, the dealer didn't quote me the price right away. I just happen to know the bind that they're in so I made an offer of $24,500 and they accepted it. The MSRP on the 05 w/o nav is $30,690, which is a 25% discount. Still, I'm a little bummed about not getting a nav.

Understandable. But, I'm not going to fly out to the east coast to buy the car out from under you.

That's awesome they took your offer! If it was me, I'd jump all over it. That's a great price for an HAH.

After saving all that money, don't sweat the Navi! Afterall, you'll have plenty of money left over to buy yourself a nice handheld/dash unit in which you can take in ANY car you drive. Check out www.gpsworldsupply.com for some great prices. I've used them in the past and have always been satisfied.

Oh, and if we weren't waiting on the possibility of orders to relocate, and the dealer was a lot closer than 2500 miles, I'd definitely be trading in the wife's V6 Escape for another HAH!

I didn't figure you would Keith. I was more worried about other east coast forum readers. Sorry about being paranoid.

Easy choice...Taffeta White Never looks dirty, cooler in summer and the white really accents the all red tail lights.
