I always use pricing from carsdirect.com as basically a measurement for fair pricing.

In my area of Southern CA, I get a price of $32,085 for the HAH with Nav.

.

I paid $27,733 (includes destination charge) for a non-nav HAH in April. I'd expect that you should still be able to do considerably better than MSRP at most dealerships.

Edmunds lists the TMV (True Market Value) price as $29,123 for a non-nav in Connecticut with an invoice price of $28,479 (both include destination fee).

Wow...cheaper prices in the states for the HAH or I'm a bad negotiator(most likely). $27 000 US is approx $31000 CAD here. I paid $10 000 more(includes taxes,fees..etc), so like $36 500ish US.

I used Edmunds to get some quotes in the South Bay.

I got my HAH at the end of July 2006 for $28,582 (without Navi price including destination charge). This was $147 above Invoice and $2,067 below MSRP.

Another dealer quoted about $250 more.

Available immediately (dealer swap from East Bay) and very easy to buy. Slight pressure for getting the extended warranty - rejected it. Note that in CA, the warranty is already extended to 15 years / 150,000 miles (10 years / 150,000 miles for IMA battery) for the HAH to qualify for the PZEV emissions (ask for yourself).

All the dealers I tried for the TCH were quoting MSRP (or higher) with difficult availability (or waiting lists).

.

Best regards,
- Gary.

FWIW, I didn't even negotiate for that price. I asked for the best price on the car and that was what the dealer started with. Maybe I could have got them to go lower ...

I must have been crazy then. I got approx $1800 CAD under MSRP for the HAH and the $1500 under MSRP for the TCH.

An out of state dealer had quoted me $28,350. I bought my HAH from my local dealer for US$ 28,500 + TTL first of September 2006. It had been on the lot about two weeks, and had 200 mi on it mostly from a dealer transfer to the lot I bought it from. I waited until 2 days before the end August and made cash offer. They jumped at it.

I'm going to look at these tomorrow. If I like the car, my target is $26,500 w/o navigation. And I think I can get it.

My math:

Invoice: 28,500
Less dealer holdback at 3%: 27,645
Less $1250 marketing support to dealer: 26,395

This dealer's sitting on four 2006 models. And I live in a part of the country where hybrids are regarded as highly subversive.
