I love my HAH too! I have had mind since April and have probably seen 2 on the road, and they are not taffeta white like mine. I have seen charcoal grey and desert mist. I love the taffeta white color by the way, and I'm sure you're enjoying yours too Kaymack!

Just got a update done on my HCH. While walking the used car lot I noticed they had a dirt (um, I mean desert mist) colored HAH. What I got a kick out of was the price. It said "See Sales Associate". I didn't have the heart to ask. The car had 10,000 miles on it. Also had one of my pet peaves, visible low tire pressure.

Why don't you like them? I'm curious because even though I've never liked them in the past (possibility of losing the o-ring when putting the cap on and having the tire slowly leak down is one concern) now that I'm constantly checking tire pressure I've reconsidered getting them for all my vehicles.

Especially my truck. For some reason, all four tires tend to lose the same amount of air at a steady rate. I've already had them checked for punctures. New valve stems. Straight wheels. I'm baffled.

The original option I was looking at was the TPMS from the www.tirerack.com website. They want $229 plus nearly $10 for shipping. But the cost, for the minimum of two vehicles, but maybe five...

Okay I must be clueless, what do you mean by visible low tir pressure? I have notice that the front 2 tires on my HAH tend to look low once in a while yet when I check the pressure, they are the proper 32 psi. Do you mean that the tire just appears to look low althought they are not?

Thanks.

there's a difference between a normal slight bulge at the tire-gound contact and the really fat tire look that comes with pressure more than 4 or 6 lbs under.

I look for that when behind others, and tend to avoid driving behind them. Often they also have the curiously (dangerously) unbalanced wheels with visible wobble/bounce.

Have you guys run those cheeepy tire pressure indicators? I've got them on my Insight though they read 36lbs and I run the pressure at 50lbs. Once I got a leak and the indicator turned red so I really like them. I wish I could find some that showed 50lbs.

Exactly Navy, If you spend enough time looking at tires you can tell the difference. I believe it's an aquired "talent" though. On my daughter's Escort (my wife drove it for 5 years) the tires always appeared low though they were not savvyshopper111 so I see where you're coming from. On this particular car the right front tire was just about down to the rim it was so low.

I still like the HAH though and would love to get one but I've been so spoiled by the HCH and Insight's mileage I don't think I'd be happy even with the extra power now that I've learned how to live without it. When I want power I pull the car that's built for speed and not for mileage out of the garage (The gas gauge is even broken so I don't have to watch it go down ) Since I checked out that HAH today I really wish they would of went with a 4cyl IMA system, not that the 6 is a bad thing.

I almost bought some of those pressue indicators years ago but never did. That wouldn't be a bad idea except that I think they're kind of ugly. But maybe I'll pick some up. It's just certain days that the tires look kind of low, and they're only the front tires. But I try to check the pressure at least once a week and put air when I need to.

Thanks.

FYI!

This evening I went to Target and they had the indicators (both 32 and 36lbs) on sale for $5 for 4. They are on the end caps in the special red Target packaging. Sorry for the thread hi-jack, I started a pressure cap thread over in General. Now back to the slow HAH sales.
