Hekk....I'm still waiting for the "Welcome to XM Radio" letter myself.

I'm assuming that DOES come out some time BEFORE the 3 month freebie is up.

Mine came at about the two month mark. Although, I've had nothing but trouble with billing since. Radio service is great! But, I haven't received any bills since and I've been charged twice. I know I have to pay for XM, but it would be nice to see a bill first.

I got my car back!

It ended up being just a bad $30 cable on Honda's end. But before they figured that out they put a new ECM in my car thinking that was it, but then took it out.

When I drove home I got 48 mpg. I'm sooo happy. I never want to be in a Chevy Cobalt again.

Total days for the software recall: 15

As far as I know they don't send out billing for the service (unless there's some different system if you're starting out with service in a new car.)

Since it's a subscription service, I just gave them a CC number and they automatcially charge the same amount every month. Since there's no detail to look for with additional/variable charges (the deal is a flat $12.95/month) there's no reason to send out a bill for it. (though you should probably be able to see your billing detail online, at least that's the way it works with Sirius.)

It's pretty much a "paperless" process, once they get your card number.

I'll probably just pre-pay a few years' subscription on the radio, since it's not like I'd be dumping the car/getting rid of the radio any time soon, and that brings the per-month charges down to $9.95/month.

That's my plan. But without a bill, I was unable to subcribe to the multi-year plan. Guess I'll just give them a call.

I'd like to go ahead and get it sooner, just so I can use the web interface. Some of the channels are good for listening to all day in the office. (Right now I use the Sirius web radio, because I have that on the HCH.)

I got the letter from XM this week (went ahead and signed up for a 3-year plan, because there's not any additional per-month discounts for 4 and 5 years) and according to the pricing online, if you want a monthly bill from them, that's an additional $2/month charge

(makes sense because there's then human intervention, paper and postage. Same as if you want a paper statement from your bank and cancelled checks, vs. online statements.)
