Default Hey are we giving the 2006 Civic "2" its own bar in the database?

It looks like the 2006 is gonna be rated 50/55 mpg compared to 46/51 for the "Civic 1" MT or 48/47 for the CVT. I think it should have its own bar. What cha think?

Hi Lakedude:

___Jason will definitely have to add an HCH-II specific section to the RHMDB.

___In regards to 50/55 city/highway, I am seeing Honda advertisements all over stating 50/50? Do you have a link?

___Good Luck

___Wayne R. Gerdes

Yes, it will definitely be separated. Once I see there are 2006 Civics in the database, I'll make room for it. It doesn't necessarily have to be done before the 2006's are included.

Actaully the Honda website's spec's say 49/51. Here is the link
http://automobiles.honda.com/models/...rid&Category=3

I saw a review on Automobile .com (http://car-reviews.automobile.com/Ho...ad-test/1516/2) the other day that listed the 50/55 number I lakedude listed

Quote:
the new Civic Hybrid delivers a stunning 50 mpg city and 55 mpg highway rating, allowing it a maximum driving range of about 600 miles per tank-ful

Will the real EPA numbers please stand up! I got my bogus info from (page 3):

To answer the second part, how it performs from a fuel consumption and environmental perspective, I dont think youll be disappointed either. Where the conventionally-powered Civic achieves an impressive 30 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway, the new Civic Hybrid delivers a stunning 50 mpg city and 55 mpg highway rating, allowing it a maximum driving range of about 600 miles per tank-full. Whats more, the Civic Hybrid manages Advanced-Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV) certification.

I saw a Honda commerical the other day claiming that the HCH-II gets 50/50 (they actually enumerated city and highway). The Honda specs available on the website say 49/51. Of course, we all know exactly how accurate the EPA estimates really are. The true empirical test will come when the new Civic gets a sizeable cohort in our RHMDB. I can't wait!

Whoops, doesn't happen. Did they actually take it for a test drive? I'm pleased that they were so impressed by it, but it looks like someone didn't do their research.
