This site is called "GreenHybrid -The Automobile Evolves". It must be the best or one of the best sites to discuss green cars. The forum software is great, the way its moderated is great and the people on it can really discuss without too much personal attacs (which I often see in other forums).

But if my wishes would come through, I would like to see this site be about Green Cars instead of just Green Hybrids. There is so much going on in the automobile/sustainability area that would be interesting to discuss:

-Dimethyl Ether
-Fossil Diesel
-Synthetic Diesel
-Biodiesel
-Gasoline-Electric hybrids
-Diesel-Electric hybrids
-Plug-in hybrids
-Homogenous(?) Engine
-Variable compression engine
-Fuel-cell solutions of every kind
-Electric vehicles
-Ethanol
-Biogas
-Natural Gas
-And more...

Sure, why not, a diesel section...although most of us, diesel heads, are here for fuel economy purposes....

The website is called "GreenHybrid" and not green cars...

I think it would be better to leave it that way.

If you have any diesel urges, please come visit TDIclub.com.

It's the very best internet resource on TDI engines on the net.

We have now over 30 000 members and tons of info (from converting your diesel to SVO/WVO or making your TDI faster than a VR6, it's all there).

Different and efficient by choice!

Okay, everyone. Before you decide the fate of GreenHybrid...

There are a few major lessons I've leaned since I established the original Internet development business. Of those, a couple apply here. First, don't try to cater to everyone. Secondly, don't demand more than the supply.

A website will grow much faster, believe it or not, if it finds a niche group and satisfies everyone in that group. For us, that's the hybrid category. Also, I simply don't have the time (or interest) to expand this into a radical-environmentalist campaign. For me, it's a hobby -- but I draw the line. GreenHybrid has to be about what I have interest in. Otherwise, I cannot be dedicated!

If this site was 100 times larger and I had 10 developers working under me, perhaps I'd decide to create GreenDiesel. For the time being, however, it just isn't possible, and I hope you understand that!

Thanks for thinking about the possibilities here, though. I appreciate it.

IMHO the best approach is what I used on my hybrid-cars@egroups.com

Q: What if I want a high MPG/great fuel economy car but not a hybrid?
A: There are many alternatives:
LUPO 3L (Europe): 90mpg
DIESEL JETTA/GOLF/BEETLE/PASSAT: 50mpg
CIVIC HX: 44mpg
ECHO: 41mpg
RAV4 SUV: 31mpg

Q: What about ultra-clean cars that are non-hybrids?
A: LUPO 3L (ranked #1 cleanest car in Europe)
RAV4 (pure electric)
SENTRA CLEAN AIR (gasoline SULEV)
ACCORD (gasoline SULEV)

Promote hybrids as the MAIN focus, but also provide other alternatives that are
still very, very good.

Perhaps in the future. Right now I just don't have the time to expand. I'm trying to improve the features we already have and streamline the sections of the site.
