Curious why the data base show mileage just for 2WD. Are there a lot less FWDs? Julian

For which vehicle? The Escape and the Highlander have database entries for both 2 & all wheel drive.

They probably didn't make a distinction between FWD and RWD. I know the 2WD Escape listed is actually a FWD vehicle.

I think they wanted to distinguish 4WD an 2WD because it makes a difference in FE.

30+mpg vs. 20+ mpg with a minimal decrease in cargo-room -- why should someone consider a nonhybrid?
