Re: 2007 highlander hybrid new design comming out
I went and looked at the gas only 2008 and found that it was much bigger then the 07. It is really a nice design when you stand next to it and compare it to the 07. More aerodynamic but not obnoxious. I liked the sheet metal flares on the 07, but the extra knee room on the 08 is really great. I can actually sit nicely in the 2nd row on the 08 (I am 6' 5"). Very comfortable and my dealer says "while I cannot be certain, it appears it should be able to pull 5000 lbs".
No brochures yet or the like but the 07 hybrids are sold out essentially.
I asked to be put on the waiting list and will basically order one as soon as they get any information. I asked my dealer to start looking for a duplicate to our 07 hhy and call me when I can order it.
It now appears that the hybrid is on the toyota.com web site for 2008 on the main page. This is new since friday I believe. I printed out all of the brochure stuff and time to start planning.
When will the 2008 Highlander Hybrids come out and how much can they tow? The answer is 07/28/08 and 3500 lbs with 350 lbs tongue weight.
08/15/07 Update. The hitch will be a class 3 valley hitch.
As of 08/19/07 3 weeks to the 08's. Maybe soon we can order them.
As of 9/9/07 Broke down and bought a "gas" Sport Highlander. The Hybrids are delayed till October-November and could not wait.
