Default CD changer not accepting CDs..(trying first time)

Though I bought the used 2007 HiHY about 3 weeks back I tried to play CD for the first time today. WE have observed that once iginition is turned on the deck makes a certain noise for a few seconds and then stop..so far we tried the radio and it works fine..so for first time we took some CDs and tried playing it.
No matter what you do the CD slot doesnt accept our CD at all...I cant even insert it ..there is not gap in slot to insert...we tired the OPEN / LOAD button but still no way the CD goes it...also I see the message NO DISC ..so there are no CDs inside ...whats going on?
Is this covered under warranty?
