Our Highlander Hybrid came with a standard owners manual. As we are learning, there are many meaningful differences between the two vehicles.

Our dealer told us initially that "someone had taken the hybrid manual", so they replaced it with the regular one. Now they say there is no hybrid specific manual. I can't imagine Toyota producing these cars without a manual specific to the hybrid.

Do you Highlander Hybrid owners have a proper manual? If so, is there a part number that I can give to my dealer? Thanks

(2) 2006 Navigation System Owner's Manual Part# 01999-48531 Publication OM48531U
On forward page iii it states that this is the Hybrid manual.

The online information comes with the vehicle, on a DVD. It is not an owners manual. My Highlander does not have a DVD player so, even the users information is of little use while travelling.

In my case this was a simple mix up. Someone put the wrong owners manual in the car. The puzzle is that, until TMBLDS gave me the part numbers for the correct manual, the dealer didn't know there was a difference, and had no idea how to get a hybrid manual.

There are two printed manuals. They come with the car. One is for the car, the other for the navigation system.

You also get a CD-ROM with videos of different features, AND the entire text of the manual.

The site http://toyotaiguide.com/ is the same info as the CD-ROM (potentially more up to date, but in reality probably the same)

True enough. However, the DVD manual is useless while travelling and is very difficult to read on anything smaller than my 50 inch TV.

It doesn't seem to be too much to ask that I receive the appropriate owners manual for the car that I purchased, DVD notwithstanding. I appreciate the part numbers for it, as I was able to order one from the dealer.
