There is a transmission! It is a CVT (Constant Variable Transmission) The transmission contains two motor generators and the inverter on top, as well as the transmission that takes the power from the electric motor generators and the ICE and delivers it to the drive wheels. Under my HiHy's hood, there is two resevoirs for coolant, I believe one for the ICE and one for the transmission / inverter.

On the subject of a cooler, does anybody know what the cooler behind the left front bumper grill is for? -Maybe for the transmission / inverter.
