Default Red button left of sterring wheel

I just bought a brand new Highlander Hybrid 4WD last Monday. There's a red button mounted on the dash where the 115V AC main switch would normally be (according to the manual -- I did RTFM BTW ). It looks like a cheap button you could get at Radio Shack and it lights red when I push it while the vehicle is in operation. There is no mention of it in the owners manual, the salesman was clueless (surprised? I knew more about the vehicle than he did and I wasn't even shopping for one) and it is unlabelled.

What does it do? Only thing I could think of is 4WD selector?

No idea, but now I'm a little jealous because the FEH doesn't have one, and geeks like me like knowing there's a Little Red Button <tm> somewhere to pique our curiousity.

Do you also have another button that turns on the rear heating element? Thats the only button I see on my base HiHy. On mine the heat button is similar to all of the others, however. Possibly the dealer added it?

I have no red button and am still trying to find out what are the two bumps by the left side of the windshield on the back top of the dash.

Red button could be a valet switch for an aftermarket alarm.

Which options did you get ?

I meant which options on Bruce's. I can give you half an answer though. The larger bump is the light sensor for the Auto head lamps.

Did a light come on that said "Please do not push this button again"?

Did you dealer add on any aftermarket stuff to jack up the price? Can you post a picture of the button. Did you push it to see what happens? Can you crawl under the dash and try to see what it is connected to? Can you take it back to the dealer and make them tell you what it is?
