the duramax paired with the allison transmission is no joke. I do agree that many of GM hybrids were unnecessary to produce;however, The Volt truly is my opinion an amazing car. I have seen them come in with 5-25k miles on them and averaging 150mpg.

I do agree the highlander is a great vehicle. I hope one day they will produce a plug-in version that can go 20-25 miles on a charge before needing to use the ICE.

i have a 2007 highlander hybrid that with 140k that I just got from an inlaw. I will be replacing the timing belt. I was going to do it all, belt, tensioiner, bearing, waterpump (this kit as they are all guinue parts). I then read that our cars do not have a belt for the water pump so is it really neccesary to change?

Your engine waterpump is driven by your timing belt. You should replace the water pump, tensioner, and idler when changing the timing belt. It's only good practice to do so. That way you have good faith in the parts.

Do you think the kit i linked to from Ebay should do the trick?

Yes, the kit you linked to is a good one (ie all OEM parts) and I definitely suggest replacing all the parts in the kit when you do your timing belt. It takes a bit more time but saves you alot of headaches in the end.
