The only clue I had to the size of the engine (without reading the paperwork) was the four pistons on the display of where the power was coming from: the electric motors, the gasoline engine or both.

I was surprised that a 2.3-liter, inline four-cylinder could feel so powerful, but then that is how an electric motor works, power right from the start without having to build up steam.
