Some estimates have stated that the war would have been over 6 months earlier had Germany not been so good at making lots and lots and lots of synthetic fuels. The Battle of the Bulge would never have occurred- the Panzers would've been stuck in garrison!

I've been bitten by the ethanol bug (well, the denatured type this time). I guess I've gotten sensitized enough to FE in general; time to move on to the next reduction- CO2 overall...corn stoves, all that good stuff.
